Who we are
This website is run by People Skills Wales ("we", "us", "our"), a training provider based in Wales. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we use your information, email hello@peopleskillswales.co.uk or call 01656 737349.
Information we collect
When you contact us. If you use our enquiry form, email or phone us, we collect the details you give us. Through the form this is your name, organisation, email address and, if you choose to give them, your telephone number, organisation size, the training you're interested in, your preferred delivery format, the topic of your enquiry and your message. If you use our questionnaire or course finder and then choose to contact us, the results you chose to send are included in your message.
When you book or attend training. To arrange and deliver training we may hold the names, job titles and contact details of the people organising it, the names of participants, attendance records, and invoicing details such as purchase order numbers and billing addresses.
When you browse the website. Our web host records standard technical information in server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. When you send the enquiry form, your IP address is included with the message to help us prevent spam. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site (see Cookies below).
Information we don't collect. We don't ask for special category information (such as health information) through this website. Please don't include sensitive personal details in your message. Our questionnaire runs entirely in your browser: your answers are not sent to us or stored anywhere unless you choose to include your results in an enquiry.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and arrange a conversation about your training needs
- prepare proposals and quotes
- plan, deliver and follow up training you book with us
- send invoices and keep financial records
- handle requests for Chris Williams to speak at events
- understand how the website is used so we can improve it (only if you accept analytics cookies)
- keep the website and enquiry form secure and prevent misuse
We don't add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails unless you ask us to. We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Our lawful bases
Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using personal information. We rely on:
- Legitimate interests: to respond to business enquiries and speaking requests, and to keep our website secure. Our interest is in running our business and answering the people who contact us; we keep what we collect to the minimum needed.
- Contract: to deliver training your organisation has booked, or to take steps you've asked for before booking, such as preparing a quote.
- Legal obligation: to keep financial and tax records.
- Consent: for analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information where it's needed to run our business, with organisations that act on our instructions and keep it secure:
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and our email
- Google, which provides Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies)
- our accountants and professional advisers, where needed for financial and legal matters
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example to comply with a court order.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. Google may process analytics data in the United States. Where information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK law provides, such as UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or approved contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: up to 24 months, in case you come back to us, then deleted.
- Client and training records: for as long as we work together and up to 6 years afterwards, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.
- Server logs: kept by our host for a limited period for security purposes.
How we keep it secure
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Our enquiry form is protected against automated spam, and access to our email and records is limited to the people who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take appropriate steps to protect what you share with us.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that's wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use your information
- object to us using your information on the basis of legitimate interests
- ask for information you gave us to be transferred to another organisation (data portability)
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email hello@peopleskillswales.co.uk or call 01656 737349. There's normally no charge, and we'll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first at hello@peopleskillswales.co.uk so we can try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and, only with your permission, analytics cookies. Full details are in our cookie policy.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
